 Dr. Ruby is a Uniontown native, graduating from Uniontown High School. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and was accepted into the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. After completing a Hospital Internship at West Virginia University, he established his practice in Uniontown, where he has been practicing for over 40 years. He is a past president of the Fayette County Dental Association, a part of the American Dental Association, and has been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry for 30 years, achieving a Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry. This award requires 500 hours of continuing education, as well as passing an arduous national exam.

Giving back to the community that supports him, Dr. Ruby has held the following positions:

• Past Chairman of the Blood Testing Program for the Uniontown Rotary Club.
• Past President of the Uniontown YMCA and a lifetime member of the Board of Directors for over 20 years.
• Co-Chairman, with Robert Eberly, of the YMCA's Project Pool, which raised money to build the swimming pool addition to the YMCA building.
• Chairman of the initiative to develop and build the Fitness Center at the YMCA.
• Coach in the Youth Basketball League at the YMCA for over 10 years.
• Coach in the Youth Baseball League at R.W. Clark for 8 years.

An avid golfer, Dr. Ruby has won numerous Uniontown Country Club and Duck Hollow Golf Course championships and senior championships and is a 3 time winner of the Fayette County Senior Open.  In addition, he has participated in and won various Western Pennsylvania Golf Association, as well as Pennsylvania State Golf Association, tournaments. He also enjoys exercising and yoga classes at the YMCA.

Dr. Ruby has been married for over 40 years to his wife Barbara, whom he met at Ohio University. They have two sons who reside in Pittsburgh. Jeff is a Software Designer at First National Bank’s corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, and Marc is a Real Estate Manager for Albertsons Companies.
